BYD Sime Motors, the official distributor of BYD vehicles in Malaysia, has officially launched BYD Certified, the brand’s certified pre-owned vehicle programme designed to give customers greater confidence when purchasing a used electric vehicle. The launch also marks the opening of the first BYD Certified outlet in the Asia Pacific region at Sime Darby Auto Selection Glenmarie, highlighting Malaysia’s growing role in BYD’s regional expansion.
Designed to provide a worry-free ownership experience, BYD Certified goes beyond a conventional used car programme by offering professionally inspected vehicles backed by verified battery health assessments, warranty coverage, financing options and nationwide aftersales support. Existing BYD owners can also take advantage of a dedicated trade-in platform, making it easier to upgrade to a newer BYD model while retaining long-term ownership value.
The programme reached its first milestone during the launch event with the delivery of a certified pre-owned BYD ATTO 3 to its first customer, signalling the growing demand for certified used EVs in Malaysia.
Five Quality Assurance Standards
Every vehicle under the BYD Certified programme must meet five strict quality standards before being offered for sale. Each car undergoes a comprehensive 170-point inspection, must have travelled less than 100,000km, and be no more than four years old based on defined mileage limits.
In addition, every certified vehicle comes with a verified clean history free from major accidents, flood damage, fire damage or odometer tampering, while any refurbishment work is carried out using genuine BYD parts following manufacturer-approved repair procedures.

Beyond vehicle certification, BYD Certified offers several ownership benefits, including a five-day buy-back assurance should undisclosed structural, flood or fire damage be discovered after delivery.
Customers will also enjoy nationwide warranty and servicing support through BYD’s authorised 3S dealer network, alongside exclusive financing rates starting from as low as 2.03%, making certified pre-owned EV ownership more accessible.
