The six note tone has been Samsung’s signature ringtone for over a decade, it is the first sound you hear on the first receiving call and notification tone on your new Samsung phone.
Compared to every other phone makers, Samsung is the only one that updates their hero ringtone every year, commissioning renowned artists such as Yiruma and Suga of BTS in creating its ‘Over the Horizon’ ringtone in the artists’ style.
This year, Samsung has taken a distinct approach on the Galaxy S26 series by commissioning Eunike Tanzil, an LA based Indonesian composer that is famous for her ‘hum me a melody’ starting line on her Instagram videos, which she can then transform any simple melody into magical, Disney-like musical arrangements.
While you might have come across her profile Instagram profile with some fun melody transformations, Eunike has made contributions to films such as ‘The Addams Family 2’, ‘Be Somebody’ and ‘Asian Persuasion’, and taking the task of composing and arranging the Galaxy S26 series ‘Over the Horizon’, while performing together with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Abbey Road Studios, brings even more recognition to the world, to whoever that’s rocking a Galaxy S26 series and later models this year.
What makes the 2026 Over the Horizon tone so special compared to previous versions is the grand entrance in the beginning, it gives us a feeling of the premium and significant introduction of the Galaxy S flagship lineup every year, while the turning effect of the strings section gives a magical feeling of a Disney soundtrack that corresponds to the things you can achieve with Galaxy AI on the phone.
On the 1:35 mark, the music slows down to a relaxing phase, giving a vibe of John Williams’ Jurassic Park theme, it reminisces of how far Galaxy smartphones have come to be of what it is today and continuous innovation.
Overall, this less than 4 minutes music takes on Eunike’s unique music arrangement style to bring out the elegance and innovation of the Galaxy S26 series when it starts playing on your first incoming call, and it is music that you will want to put your best headphones on to appreciate on the Samsung Music app.
Aside from this, Samsung has recently updated the Galaxy S26 series with new classical-inspired ringones, including adaptions from Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Prélude” from Cello Suite No. 1 and George Frideric Handel’s “Alla Hornpipe” from Water Music Suite No. 2. Rooted in Galaxy’s “Inspired by Nature” sound philosophy, the compositions aim to bring a more refined and immersive audio experience to everyday interactions, while also tapping into nostalgia as both pieces were previously used during the Anycall era. The ringtones were recorded at Abbey Road Studios in collaboration with global experts, performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and reflect Samsung’s continued effort to build a unified, nature-inspired sound identity across its devices.
