vivo Malaysia has released a 9 minute and 30-second short film about a deaf Malaysian girl’s determination in fulfilling her dreams to become a national athlete, titled ‘Shout it Out’. The film was shot using the vivo X70 Pro, their professional photography flagship smartphone.

Inspired by a true story, ‘Shout it Out’ follows the story of Siti – a Malaysian who has been deaf since young. Against all odds, she masters karate and fights her way to represent Malaysia in an international karate tournament. This touching film highlights her strong determination and how her teacher’s unwavering support and guidance pushed her to the world stage as a national athlete, despite various challenges, rejections, naysayers, and self-doubt.

The film was directed by Mallory Lee, with Nurizyan Hishammuddin playing the protagonist role of Siti, while her coach is played by Seelan Manoheran.

Mallory said that filming ‘Shout it Out’ was a great experience for her and she was happy to have captured the true essence and emotions displayed by Nurizyan in portraying Siti, showing her struggles, joy, determination and courage in reaching her dreams regardless of her difficulties.

The ‘Shout it Out’ short film is now available and can be viewed on vivo Malaysia Official Youtube Channel.
