Huawei’s sub brand Honor has been stepping up its game lately, just like its own parent company. Honor has released a slew of impressive yet affordable devices, the latest known handset being the dual camera Honor 6X. The company has unveiled another attractive handset, also featuring a dual camera setup, like its predecessor and most of the Huawei and Honor devices lately.

At first glance, the Honor V9 looks almost identical to the iPhone 7, specifically the Plus model. Encased in a slim metal body, the handset definitely has a sleek look to it, like many metal built smartphones alike. The display on the front is a sharp QHD resolution display measuring at 5.7-inches. Honor isn’t holding back on specs as well when we look underneath the hood. Powering the Honor V9 is Huawei’s own high end HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset, and comes with three memory variants – 4GB RAM/64GB storage, 6GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage.

Moving on to the rear panel of the Honor V9 we see a very iPhone 7 Plus-esque design again, including the dual camera configuration. The V9 features two 12MP cameras, the secondary one being a black and white image sensor to capture more light. Below the camera package lies the rear fingerprint sensor. The phone packs a larger than usual 4,000mAh battery, which sounds more than sufficient.

The Honor V9 runs on Android Nougat out of the box, which is good news. Honor has also maintained its affordability on this power package of a smartphone, with the 4GB/64GB model coming in at 2,599 CNY (RM1,683.42), 6GB/64GB for 2,999 CNY (RM1,942.50) and 6GB/128GB for (RM2,266.36). The phone will be sold by Chinese retailers beginning 28th February.
