New year, new Telegram; the messaging app is welcoming 2020 with a bunch of updates for both iOS and Android devices.

Now on Telegram, there’s a new theme editor that lets you edit the background, accent and message elements in your Telegram chat, so you can customize your Telegram to perfectly match your taste. You can even add gradients to the background and messages, and change the angle of the gradient for the background. In addition to that, Telegram added new patterns for the background that is also customizable to your preferred colors. If customization seems like too much of a hassle for you, Telegram also updated its color schemes so you have more options.

Telegram also introduced a new feature called “Send When Online”; you’re basically given the option to schedule messages to be sent once the recipient comes online on the app. Always fighting to see who’s the first to send that “Good morning” text? With “Send When Online”, you’ll always win that battle — even if you’re actually still sleeping soundly. Of course, if you don’t have the access to your recipients’ online status then this feature won’t work.

Apart from better accuracy in sharing your location, Telegram also added a list view for your “Search” results so you can check on all the messages that contain that keyword you’re searching for. If you’re an iPhone user and you’re hoping the multiple messages selection feature on Android will be available soon, well today’s your lucky day.

In addition to that, iOS users can also choose different browsers to open links, change their text size throughout the app, and customize their iOS share sheet settings. It’s even easier for you to switch between three accounts — without the need to log out — on iOS by accessing them directly on your home screen. Just note that you’ll have to be on iOS 13.

As for Android users, you can quickly switch to Night Mode in the app when you click the top of the menu, where the moon icon is located. You can share external content with multiple friends at once, Marco your archive as read, select your video quality prior to sending them, and choose to disable automatic reply recording when you listen to a voice message.
