Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Tab S12 series in Malaysia, with the 12.6-inch Galaxy Tab S12+ and 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra going on sale from 7 October 2026. Prices start at RM4,999 for the Wi-Fi model, while both tablets pair large Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 platform, an included S Pen and Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI tools.
Two screen sizes, one flagship chipset
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra uses a 14.6-inch 2960×1848 Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ gets a 12.6-inch 2800×1752 panel. Both displays run at up to 120Hz and are rated for 1,600 nits peak brightness, with Samsung positioning the Ultra as the more expansive canvas and the Plus as the easier model to carry.
At 5.1mm thick, the Tab S12 Ultra weighs 692g for Wi-Fi and 695g for 5G. The Tab S12+ measures 5.3mm and weighs 553g or 555g respectively. Both carry an IP68 rating, use an on-display fingerprint sensor and include a redesigned S Pen in the box, although the stylus does not support Bluetooth features.
Power comes from the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in the Malaysian launch configurations. A microSD slot supports cards up to 2TB. Samsung claims the new chip delivers up to 61% faster NPU performance, 19% faster CPU performance and 17% faster GPU performance than the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, while a new 3D vapour chamber helps manage heat under sustained workloads.
Galaxy AI and desktop-style multitasking
The tablets ship with Android 17 and One UI 9, adding Galaxy AI features and a Multi Window layout that can show up to three apps at once. Samsung is also including six months of Google AI Pro, while Adobe Photoshop comes preloaded with a four-month mobile plan. Other software offers cover Notability, Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion and Clip Studio Paint, though renewal charges may apply after the promotional periods.
For longer-term support, Samsung promises up to seven generations of operating-system upgrades together with security updates. Both models have quad speakers with four-channel spatial audio, and the 5G variants support a physical SIM plus eSIM.
Battery capacity is 11,600mAh on the Tab S12 Ultra and 10,600mAh on the Tab S12+. Samsung quotes up to 23 hours and 21 hours of video playback respectively. Both support 45W charging, with a full charge estimated at about 95 minutes when used with a compatible 45W adapter.
Malaysia price and launch promotion
The Galaxy Tab S12+ costs RM4,999 with Wi-Fi or RM5,649 with 5G, while the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is priced at RM5,999 for Wi-Fi and RM6,649 for 5G. Gray and Silver finishes will be available from 7 October 2026.
From 7 October to 8 November, Samsung is offering selected launch benefits that include preloaded app offers valued at RM1,123.58, a keyboard-and-S Pen accessory package valued at up to RM1,208, and rebates of up to RM500 at checkout with participating debit or credit cards or SPayLater. Instalment plans start from RM127.75 per month for eligible customers.
