While most people won’t think of durability for phones that costs less than RM400, realme believes that it is still crucial with the realme Note 60 smartphone, as this entry-level device features IP64 water and dust resistance and an ArmorShell Tough Build, which the latter is a reinforced chassis with proper cushioning that prevents the screen from cracking when accidentally dropped.

For RM399, the realme Note 60 offers a 6.74-inch 720p display with a 90Hz refresh rate, powered by a Unisoc T612 chipset, you get 4GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, battery capacity is reasonably big at 5000mAh but can take a while to charge with just a 10W input, though thankfully it comes with a USB-C port instead of MicroUSB.

On the imaging side, this tough entry-level handset has a dual camera setup on the back but only one is usable that takes up to 32MP stills, while the front camera takes a modest 5MP resolution.

Interestingly, realme is promising a 48-month Fluency guarantee which suggests that the phone’s performance will remain similar after 4 years of usage, the phone’s touch screen also has a good polling rate for wet fingers.

The realme Note 60 ships with realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14, though we should expect at least one major OS upgrade from the brand and frequent security updates, it is overall a good value entry-level handset if what you value is durability on a cheap Android smartphone.
