It seems inevitable that 2G feature phones would one day be phased out of the market, and HMD Global obviously isn’t going to let its refreshed ‘legendary’ Nokia 3310 expire after a year of its release, as the company has finally introduced the Nokia 3310 4G in China. The phone looks exactly the same like the ongoing model, but it now comes pre-installed with apps, which at this point of time catered to the Chinese market, the phone will also come with 256MB RAM and 512MB of built-in storage, storage can be expanded up to 64GB with a MicroSD card, and it comes with WiFi Hotspot feature.

Instead of using the company’s S30+ operating system, the phone now uses YunOS with the familiar S30+ skin applied on it, it makes sense for HMD Global to switch to that as the phone will be capable of running social and chat apps to take advantage of 4G connectivity on the phone. If you are thinking to import the phone directly from China, you’ll need to take note on the network bands as it only supports TDD-LTE Bands 38,41,39 and 40, which will only support telcos such as webe and Yes 4G, the great news is that the phone will also support VoLTE which you can make crystal clear voice calls to other supported phone models.

HMD Global hasn’t set a release date and price for the phone yet, but we reckon it will be showcased in Mobile World Congress next month, and let’s hope the company brings more surprises during that time.
