While big names like Nokia are getting the most attention in Mobile World Congress this week, French smartphone maker Wiko has been on the MWC spotlight with the announcement of the UPulse smartphone, the UPulse isn’t just a total redesign of what we see from its previous offerings, but it is also the most premium looking smartphone ever produced by the French. As we have come to familiarize with Wiko smartphones, the UPulse’s metallic back should be a removable and is the highlight of the phone itself, which features three attractive colors with a brushed aluminium finishing, it also has a rear fingerprint scanner like the rest and uses on screen buttons.

Apart from design, the Wiko UPulse also has new imaging tricks with its 13-megapixel main camera, it lets you create a ultra resolution photo at 52-megapixel while having automatic scene detection to produce ideal photos, the front facing 8-megapixel camera will be able to real time artistic blur portraits and live filters. In terms of specs, the UPulse features a rather modest Mediatek 1.3GHz quad-core processor mated to 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage, users can be entertained with its super bright 500 nits 5.5-inch HD IPS display and Wiko claims the phone to offer a premium and immersive sound experience, however having a 3000mAh battery isn’t something that attractive.

The Wiko UPulse will come with Android Nougat out of the box and the company has plans to bring this device to the Malaysian market, the phone costs 199 Euros (RM932), however expect prices to be lower when it reaches here.
