Microsoft’s own Office 365-based productivity app is finally available as the company has begun rolling out the aptly named Planner app for free to all eligible Office 365 subscribers.

First teased back in September, Planner allows you to set up columns for different work stages, create cards for certain tasks and drag them around to track progress. If you’ve ever used task management services such as Trello or Asana before, Planner is essentially Microsoft’s take on them.

As mentioned earlier, all those with eligible Office 365 subscription plans will be able to launch Planner through the Office 365 app launcher. No specific action by Office 365 admins is needed. Subscriptions that will allow access to Planner includes Office 365 Enterprise E1-E5, Business Essentials, Premium and Education.

Microsoft has promised that they will be open to feedback and will be tuning and modifying Planner to improve the app. In the meantime, the company has stated that Planner will be receiving a couple of new features such as external user access, customizable boards, and apps for iOS, Android and Windows in the coming months.
