Origin seems to have nailed it this time, bringing the competition to household names such as MSI and ASUS within the gaming laptop spectrum. This is its latest 15-inch gaming laptop – the EON15-S. It doesn’t look very much attractive, but its price might make up for its looks.18
Most gaming laptops aren’t slim to begin with, neither should you expect the EON15-S to be. It sports an IPS matte display at 1080p resolution measuring at 15.6-inches, plus a customizable backlit keyboard. Most of internals can be said to be of the bare minimum standard for modern gaming – an Intel Core i3-7100H 3.00GHz chipset, 8GBÂ Kingston HyperX Impact DDR4 2133MHz RAM, 120GB of SSD storage plus an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GDDR5 graphics card.
While the specs might seem basic to some, the GTX 1050 Ti GPU definitely does pack a punch for today’s gaming titles. If you want more, most of the laptops internals are configurable for you to spec it out, such as a more powerful Core i7 processor, up to 32GB of RAM with higher bus speed, a larger NVMe M.2 SSD storage if you so desire, but those will definitely cost you more.
Otherwise, the Origin EON-15 S can turn out to be sufficient enough for those who aren’t too crazy on gaming. It starts with a price tag of $999 (RM4,400.10), which is affordable but can certainly be matched by the more familiar brands out there. Nevertheless, we have to give credit to Origin for this one.
