The adoption rate for Android Marshmallow has been slowly improving, but only by a tiny fraction. Many of the latest devices out there, including handsets which were just launched this month, are still rocking Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, with Lollipop being introduced by Google nearly two years ago. A device that has also fallen prey to this phenomenon is the budget Honor 5X by Honor, a sub-brand of Huawei.

Honor has finally teased Marshmallow for the Honor 5X, on their Twitter account:

“It’s sweet, It’s fluffy. And it’s coming soon to Honor 5x. #YouReady?

With it’s price point below the RM 1,000 mark, the Honor 5X comes a metal unibody and a brushed aluminium backing. It sports a 5.5-inch full HD display, a Snapdragon 616 SoC alongside 2 or 3GB of RAM, a standard camera pair of 13MP and 5MP and a 3,000mAh battery with a rear fingerprint sensor. As attractive as the entire package may sound, the Honor 5X only came with Android Lollipop, which can be a deal breaker for some, given the fact that it was recently introduced at CES earlier this year. What do you think?
