The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active has definitely been anticipated to be unveiled some time this year, considering the fact that Samsung has been launching tough and rugged versions of its flagship line since the Galaxy S4 a couple of years ago. The S7 Active was leaked among a list of supported devices of an app on the Google Play Store. This time, a couple of photos of the alleged handset has surfaced, and it sure looks like a tough one to beat.

Based on the image, the Galaxy S7 Active is retaining the same military-like camouflage look on its rear side, like on last year’s Galaxy S6 Active. One significant difference is the set of tough-looking bumpers, which seems to be rubberized, replacing the metal frame enclosing last year’s S6 Active. Rubber bumpers would mean that the S7 Active will survive drops better, or in other words, with less damage to the device.

The S7 Active is said to sport the same IP rating of IP68, which is already a good protection to begin with. Also seen in the images are physical buttons like on the Active phone from last year. The device is rumored to pack a Snapdragon 820 SoC plus 4GB of RAM, pretty much identical to the released S7 series. We should be expecting Samsung to unveil the Galaxy S7 Active pretty soon.
