Remember the video that showed off the UI of the Nintendo Switch. Apparently, the console unit that the footage was recorded on wasn’t acquired through an honest accident, as Nintendo has issued a statement saying that the particular Switch unit has been stolen.

In a statement forwarded to IGN, Nintendo states that the Switch console in question is a part of a small number of units that have been stolen by employees of a U.S. redistributor. These units would then wind up at a retailer, after which a customer could acquire it as per normal. Nintendo has since stated that the people responsible for stealing the small batch of Switch consoles have since been “identified, terminated from their place of employment and are under investigation by local law enforcement authorities on criminal charges.”

As for that particular Nintendo Switch unit, NeoGAF user hiphoptherobot has since returned the console to Nintendo.
