DJI has finally introduced the DJI Spark to the Malaysian market today, the Spark is the smallest drone ever made to date after last year’s Mavic Pro, its authorised distributor ECS Astar says that the drone will begin its sales starting today in retailers nationwide, available in Alpine White color only in the first round of sales, the Spark retails from RM2,288. At a later date, customers will be able to purchase the Fly More Combo, the combo comes with spare propellers, propeller guards, a carrying bag, two additional batteries, a remote control and a three-slot charging station, which will cost RM3,188.
The DJI Spark is intended for those who wants an ultra compact drone on-the-go to capture aerial moments, measuring as tall as a canned soft drink and weighing merely 300 grams, the drone’s camera takes 12-megapixel stills and Full HD videos at 30 fps supported by a 2-axis gimbal, a 1/2.3″ sensor size and a f/2.6 maximum aperture. The Spark also has intelligent flight features adapted from the higher end Mavic and Phantom drones, such as front obstacle avoidance, visual positioning sensors and object tracking features.
Probably the most impressive feature of all, is that the Spark features a new PalmControl feature that allows the user to control the drone using hand gestures, users can take advantage of it to take selfies and to land the drone for instance. On the other hand, the Spark has a few shootings modes programmed to help new pilots achieve complicated shooting angles, making this an extremely fun and friendly drone to own.
The DJI Spark’s flight time is rated at 16-minutes per chargeand can fly up to a maximum distance of 2KM with the optional remote controller, sport mode will allow the drone to sprint up to 50km/h. For those who prefers a first person view, the Spark will also work with the DJI Goggles for an immersive flight experience.
