Suunto has launched the Suunto Run 2 in Malaysia, bringing a brighter display, longer battery life and offline maps to its lightweight running-watch lineup. The watch will be available through Suunto’s official and authorised stores from 1 October 2026, priced at RM1,549 for the 4GB version and RM1,699 for the 64GB model.
The new watch arrives alongside the Suunto Smart Heart Rate Belt 2, an ECG-based chest strap priced at RM599. Both products are aimed at runners who want more detailed training and recovery data, whether they are building towards a first marathon or chasing a faster race time.
A brighter screen and upgraded tracking
The Suunto Run 2 uses a 1.32-inch AMOLED display rated at more than 2,000 nits, making it three times brighter than the original Suunto Run. Its watch body weighs 35g and measures 11.7mm thick, while the stainless-steel bezel, Gorilla Glass and 5ATM water resistance are intended to handle daily wear and changing training conditions.
Battery capacity has increased by 29%, giving the watch around 10 days of daily use with training and up to 24 hours when using dual-band GNSS. Actual endurance will depend on settings and usage.
Positioning has also been upgraded with L1 and L5 dual-band support across GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and QZSS. A redesigned 12-channel optical heart-rate sensor sits behind curved sensor glass, while free worldwide offline maps can be downloaded to the watch for route guidance without a phone. The 64GB version should also be the more practical option for users who plan to store music for playback through Bluetooth headphones.
Running-focused features include EnergySense, which compares current effort with remaining capacity, and Live Finish Prediction for estimating race completion time from the current pace. Suunto’s Training Plan and Training Zone tools combine workouts with training load, heart-rate variability, sleep and recovery data, while Marathon Mode adds Ghost Runner and other race-day tools.
Smart Heart Rate Belt 2 adds form data
The Suunto Smart Heart Rate Belt 2 uses ECG-based detection to capture heart rate and beat-to-beat R-R interval data. Suunto says its updated chest-strap construction is designed to reduce electrical noise, while the transmitter can connect to three devices simultaneously over Bluetooth.
When paired with a compatible Suunto watch, its six-axis motion sensor can measure cadence, ground-contact time, vertical oscillation, flight time and left-to-right ground-contact balance. It also provides up to 20 hours of rolling memory and approximately 460 hours of battery life.
Malaysia pricing and availability
The Suunto Run 2 comes in All Black, Feather Gold and Aloe Green, with prices starting at RM1,549 for 4GB and RM1,699 for 64GB. The Smart Heart Rate Belt 2 costs RM599. Both products go on sale in Malaysia on 1 October 2026 through Suunto’s official website, Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop and authorised retailers.
