Honda Malaysia has launched the refreshed 2026 Honda City, with prices starting at RM89,900 for the entry-level E variant and rising to RM111,900 for the e:HEV RS. The updated B-segment sedan goes on sale with revised styling, more cabin technology and additional safety hardware across the range.
A sharper look and a larger display
The new City wears a redesigned front grille, while the RS models gain a long light bar that links the slimmer headlamps. Bi-LED headlights are standard on every variant, and Honda has also introduced new 16-inch dual-tone machined alloy wheels on selected grades. At the rear, revised lighting and bumper details give the sedan a more contemporary appearance without changing its familiar three-box shape.
Inside, the V, Petrol RS and e:HEV RS move to a 10-inch display audio system, while the City E retains an 8-inch unit. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is offered from the V variant upwards, although Honda notes that Android Auto will depend on the service’s official availability in Malaysia. The V and both RS variants also use a 7-inch TFT meter, compared with a 4.2-inch display in the E.
Honda has added ambient lighting, footwell illumination and door-pocket lighting from the V upwards. The e:HEV RS additionally gets a wireless phone charger, while rear air-conditioning vents, remote engine start, walk-away auto lock and two rear USB-C charging ports are fitted across the line-up.
More safety equipment across all four variants
Honda Sensing remains standard on every City, bringing features such as collision mitigation braking, lane-keeping assistance, road-departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam and lead-car departure notification. Low Speed Follow is reserved for the e:HEV RS.
The major change is the addition of Blind Spot Information with Cross Traffic Monitoring on all four variants. Honda LaneWatch also remains standard, while the Petrol RS and e:HEV RS add a new 360-degree Multi-View Camera System to make parking and low-speed manoeuvres easier.
Petrol and hybrid powertrains continue
The three petrol variants keep the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated DOHC i-VTEC engine, producing 121PS and 145Nm of torque through a continuously variable transmission. Honda quotes fuel consumption of 5.6 litres per 100km.
The e:HEV RS combines a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle engine with Honda’s two-motor hybrid system. Its traction motor produces 109PS and 253Nm, and the claimed combined fuel consumption is 3.7 litres per 100km. The hybrid is also the quickest of the four on paper, with a claimed 0-100km/h time of 9.7 seconds, and it carries a 10-year, unlimited-mileage warranty for the hybrid battery and related components, subject to Honda’s terms.
2026 Honda City price and availability in Malaysia
The Honda City 1.5L E is priced at RM89,900, followed by the 1.5L V at RM94,900 and the 1.5L Petrol RS at RM99,900. The City 1.5L e:HEV RS tops the range at RM111,900. All figures are on-the-road prices for Peninsular Malaysia without insurance and take effect from 24 September 2026.
Buyers can choose Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic and the new Blazing Red Pearl. Stellar Diamond Pearl is limited to the petrol V and Petrol RS variants. Honda Malaysia is also running a Special City Reward Programme for the first 2,400 eligible customers, covering selected new and existing Honda owners, upgraders and government servants, though the company has not detailed the individual reward values in its release.
The refreshed City is covered by Honda Malaysia’s vehicle warranty of up to eight years with unlimited mileage for newly purchased petrol and hybrid models from 1 September 2026, subject to the programme’s terms and conditions. Honda says more than 536,000 City units have been sold in Malaysia over the nameplate’s 24 years in the country.
