We’ve already heard rumors of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, but recent reports suggest that the company plans to launch another non-5G foldable phone — the Galaxy Fold Lite.
As it’s a lite version, we should be expecting a more affordable price tag as compared to the Galaxy Fold. Its price might even go lower than the Galaxy Z Flip that was launched earlier this year priced at RM5,888. According to Max Weinbach from XDA Developers, the Galaxy Fold Lite will not be using Ultra-Thin Glass for its display and will be smaller as compared to the Galaxy Fold.
Under the hood, Weinbach received information that the foldable device will be powered by a Snapdragon 865 chipset and come with 256GB storage. We should expect the phone to come with 8GB RAM and a bigger battery than the 3,300mAh battery in the Galaxy Z Flip. SlashGear also reported that the Galaxy Fold Lite will be priced around $1,099 which is only slightly pricier than the Galaxy S20 at $1,000.
Despite the current pandemic, the Galaxy Fold Lite 4G might be launching alongside the Galaxy Fold 2 this year. Leaks have revealed that the Galaxy Fold 2 will be available in black and brown while the Galaxy Fold Lite will come in Mirror Purple and Mirror Black.
