MINI Malaysia has introduced the first plug-in hybrid variant of the premium Sports Activity Vehicle with the New MINI Countryman Plug-In hybrid.
The MINI Countryman comes with a MINI Yours Walknappa Leather Steering Wheel with rich details to complete the artisan feel with hand-finished aluminium-coloured contrast stitching. Other than that, it also has a 6.5-inch touchscreen display in the MINI Centre Instrument houses a state-of-the-art technology which puts a wide range of navigation information for the driver. It also comes with an eDrive button which can put the car into three electric drive modes, AUTO eDrive Mode, pure electric MAX eDrive Mode and the SAVE BATTERY mode, where the charging status of the battery is maintained at a constant level.
Power to the wheels is separated by the engines, with the electric motor powering the read wheels and the petrol engine driving the front wheels. Alongside the 6-speed transmission, the new MINI Countryman can produce 224hp and 385Nm of torque which gives it an acceleration time of 0 to 100hm/h in 6.8 seconds with a maximum speed of 198km/h.
The car can be charged at home by connecting the Home Charging Cable to a wall socket, giving it a full charge in 5 hours, or you can charge it at the 270 public charging facilities across Malaysia for roughly 3 hours and 15 minutes. In addition to that, owners of the MINI Countryman Plug-In Hybrid will get the ChargeNow offered with the MINI Public Charging Cables and a 1-year subscription of unlimited charging at all 270 ChargeEV stations
The New MINI Countryman Plug-In Hybrid is now available at all authorised MINI dealerships nationwide and comes with a price of RM255,888 that includes a MINI 4 years Unlimited Mileage Warranty with Free Scheduled Service.
MINI Malaysia also introduced a New locally-assembled MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports which makes Malaysia the first market in the world to locally assemble a MINI Countryman.
The car comes fitted with the MINI John Cooper Works Aerodynamic Kit which consists of a front apron with built-in air ducts for cooling the brakes and a rear bumper with a diffuser design. It also features a sports suspension to give the driving a dynamic feel and gives it an optimum ground contact.
There is also a Park Distance Control which can make manoeuvring tight spaces easier and Park Assist will analyse the space for parking the car and automatically take over to get you parked in no time. The 8.8-inch touchscreen display comes with navigation and features a split screen function which can allow two maps to be displayed at the same time. The screen can be operated via the screen itself, or the MINI Touch Controller positioned on the centre console. Entertainment wise, it comes with Harmon Kardon hi-fi speaker system with a 360-watt output and 12 speakers specially tuned to the vehicle’s interior.
The MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports is powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder MINI TwinPower Turbo Engine coupled with an 8-speed Sports Automatic Transmission with paddle shifters. It is currently available in all MINI Authorised Dealerships for a price of RM245,888 and comes with a MINI 4 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty with Free Scheduled Service.
