We reviewed the 2015 Ford Mondeo back then and was disappointed to find that its Ford SYNC 2 entertainment system didn’t come with no Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, but if you are thinking to purchase a new 2017 Ford vehicle, the company is finally bringing Android Auto and CarPlay to SYNC 3, the announcement was made in the US market, where Ford will begin to offer to its SUVs, cars, pickup trucks and electric vehicles with Google’s and Apple’s car centric software.

Android Auto and CarPlay is able to bring certain smartphone features onto a car’s entertainment, unlike conventional premium car entertainment systems, they will usually support most smartphone navigation apps, music streaming services and some concierge services if you ever need it, it also helps to ensure that drivers do not get distracted to their smartphone screens and is still able to perform functions via the car’s console controls.

Even though the feature is already available on some after market head units in Malaysia, there has been no clue if our local Ford dealer have plans to bring Android Auto and CarPlay to next year’s vehicle, as you can see the 2016 Ford Mustang launched this year unfortunately still had a dated SYNC 2 software, rather than SYNC 3 that is already available in the US market, so we could only cross our fingers to see if any of these continental car makers will start offering Android Auto and CarPlay here, or not.
