While ZTE hasn’t been entirely active in Malaysia, the company has been heavily targeting the US market and of course, its home land China where it constantly churns out new devices. This time round, ZTE has launched a new phablet in partnership with US carrier MetroPCS. The ZTE Blade Z Max is another one of the company’s super affordable handsets.

The ZTE Blade’s Z Max’s screen size automatically places it into phablet category. Coming in at 6-inches, ZTE ensures that resolution won’t be compromised at a decent 1080p resolution. Underneath the hood, you’ll find a Snapdragon 425 SoC powering the Blade Z Max, along with 2GB of RAM and a respectable 32GB of storage which can be further expanded by another 128GB via the micro SD slot.

The Blade Z Max’s camera department isn’t of your usual entry level or mid range standard. Instead, the phone sports a dual rear camera setup of 16MP + 2MP sensors. Like most dual camera configurations, the Blade Z Max’s dual rear cameras are capable of producing images with depth of field and bokeh effects. The front facing camera is no slouch either at 8 megapixels.

The ZTE Blade Z Max comes packing a massive 4,080mAh battery, which on paper sounds more than enough for its power consumption, along with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 support.

The ZTE Blade Z Max will likely remain a US exclusive via MetroPCS. However, it is worth noting that the phone can be obtained off-contract for an attractive price tag of $129 (RM 553.86).
