YouTube content creators rejoice as Google has announced that the video streaming service now supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) videos as well.

Starting today, anyone who has a HDR supported device such as HDR-ready TVs or the Chromecast Ultra will be able to watch YouTube videos in HDR. Additionally, Google will be working with a number of YouTubers like MysteryGuitarMan, Jacob and Katie Schwarz and Abandon Visuals to have premium HDR content ready for launch. For content creators, you can now upload your HDR videos onto the service.

HDR videos have been a long time coming for YouTube. The video streaming service has implemented 4K support for quite a while now, with HDR having a later rollout date. Today, with HDR finally going live, viewers can now watch videos that are far more detailed than what can be perceived from a standard HD or UHD video.
