vivo Malaysia has unveiled its next generation camera flagship phone series, the vivo X90 series comprises the vivo X90 and X90 Pro, both phones will continue to deliver the very best of smartphone photography with the all new vivo V2 chip and ZEISS T* lens coating, while the highlight is definitely focused on the vivo X90 Pro, as it comes equipped with a 50.3MP 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor.

The vivo X90 series are powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 9200 chipset mated to 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage, they also share the same 6.78-inch curved 120Hz OLED display with an in-display fingerprint reader, the same 32MP front selfie camera, and 120W fast charging on their 4800mAh battery.

Aside from their camera setups, what differs between the duo is that the vivo X90 Pro has IP68 water and dust resistance and has support for 50W fast wireless charging, while the regular X90 only has IP64 water and dust resistance with no support for wireless charging.

When it comes to cameras, the vivo X90 is equipped with the same camera system from last year’s X80, which comprises a 50MP f/1.8 wide angle, 12MP telephoto and 12MP ultrawide lens, though camera performance should be slightly improved with the new vivo V2 chip.

As for the X90 Pro, the 50.3MP Sony IMX989 sensor is complemented with a 50MP telephoto lens that offers 2x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide lens. While this isn’t the first phone to be equipped with the Sony IMX989 sensor, vivo has opted for a larger f/1.75 aperture for the phone’s main camera optics as compared to f/1.9, it also has a more sophisticated 1G+7P lens structure and a wider OIS area. With the help of the ZEISS T* lens coating and vivo V2 ISP, it is capable of delivering great low light photography with more details and less light flare.

The X90 Pro is also capable of taking 8K videos at 30 fps, while the vivo V2 chip assists in stabilizing video in 4K and offering film LUTs without affecting the phone’s performance.

Starting today, customers can purchase the vivo X90 series at vivo Malaysia’s online store on Shopee and Lazada, vivo E-Store and all authorised dealers nationwide, the vivo X90 and X90 Pro retails officially at RM3,699 and RM4,999 respectively.
