Two months after the launch of the vivo V17 Pro, the Chinese company is set to introduce it’s smaller sibling, the vivo V17.

The V17 Pro is a good smartphone that boasts the aesthetics and performance of a flagship, all while being priced within the mid-tier range – so with this, the regular V17 could inherit some the same DNA too.

The phone has already made its appearance in India, so here’s what we’re looking at – it’s a 6.44-inch device that boasts an ‘E3’ Super AMOLED display that pushes 1080p resolution. It also has a punch hole notch placed on the top right corner of the screen – a star contrast from the V17 Pro’s notchless display thanks to its pop-up module.

Over on the back, you’ll also find a quad-lens setup but this time, it’s placed in rectangular module off to the side rather than down the middle. The setup includes a 48MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide shooter, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor – we’re basing this on the Indian variant of the phone, so the camera specs could change when it arrives here.  For selfies, you get a single 32MP lens – no double cameras here.

When it comes to internals, you’ll find a similar setup – the same Snapdragon 675 chipset with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It’s powered with a 4,500mAh battery with support of up to 18W fast charging.

Referencing the Indian market again, the phone retails at INR22,990 (RM1,350), so it could be priced similarly too when it arrives in Malaysia this December 17.
