The vivo S6 5G has gone official in its native China and interestingly, it’ll pack an Exynos 980 chipset, that’s equipped with an integrated 5G modem. This isn’t the first vivo smartphone to come with the processor; the vivo X30 series comes with the Samsung’s 5G processor as well.

The phone is a 6.44-inch device that packs an FHD+ AMOLED display panel with a waterdrop notch in the middle. It’s got thin bezels on the sides and the top; however, it does have a sizeable chin.

As you’d expect of a vivo S-series smartphone, over on the back, you’ll notice an interesting camera module design – this time around, the vivo S6 5G comes with a circular setup that houses a 48MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide snapper, a 2MP macro shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, you get a high-res 32MP selfie lens too.

Under the hood, there’s the aforementioned Exynos 980 chipset from Samsung; and alongside it is either 6GB or 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. The phone is powered with a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

In terms of colours, it comes in this pearlescent white colour that’s reminiscent of the vivo S1’s Fancy Sky. There’s also a familiar black option and a blue-silver gradient variant. In China, the phone goes for CNY 2,689 (RM1,683) for the 6GB+128GB option and CNY 2,998 (RM1,826) for the 8GB+256GB version. The vivo S6 5G is set to be available in China from April 4; the local availability is still yet to be disclosed, so stay tuned for updates.
