Vivo has finally unveiled the long awaited Vivo NEX phone that has managed to integrate two technologies that everyone has been waiting for, a full display phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor. NEX is Vivo’s premium line-up, representing the innovation in design, performance as well as cutting-edge technologies.
The Vivo NEX comes with a beautiful 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with an amazing 91.24% screen-to-body ratio. Its main attraction is the 8MP Elevating Front Camera which hides in the body of the phone and will slide up when the camera app is launched. Because the phone’s screen covers almost the entire front of the phone, there is no place to put the receiver, so Vivo has opted for their Screen SoundCasting Technology which will turn the screen into a speaker, effectively removing the bezels on the top of the phone.
Not forgetting, the 3rd-generation in-display fingerprint sensor which has improved accuracy and speed. A feature that Vivo has borrowed from Samsung Galaxy S8, is the dedicated voice assistant button on the side of the phone which will call up Jovi, Vivo’s voice assistant, that can activate Google Assistant and Google Lens.
Coming into its photo taking abilities, the Vivo NEX is equipped with Sony’s IMX363 lens with a camera configuration of 12MP+5MP alongside a high precision 4-axis OIS with support from EIS as well. It comes with a range of AI features like AI Scene Recognition, AI HDR, AI Filters and AI Portrait Framing.
Vivo has claimed that the phone is able to take pictures regardless of the lighting and surrounding. Specs wise, the Vivo NEX comes with the latest Snapdragon 845 processor 128GB of internal storage, 4000mAh battery and 8GB of RAM, making it powerful phone to run all the apps you need, coupled with the Adreno 630 GPU for smooth gaming experience.
The phone will be available starting 28 July 2019 onwards with a price of RM2,799 and will be available at all Vivo Concept Stores and authorized resellers nationwide.
