Thursday to be an auspicious day for luxury car brands, as Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has unveiled its all new C-Class Cabriolet and SLC Roadster in Zouk Kuala Lumpur, the C-Class Cabriolet is what the company calls it a true dream car with a sleek silhouette, an impeccable design and luxurious appeal, while the SLC is a sports luxury roadster that defies all conventions with its youthful appearance, dynamic sportiness and edgy design.
C-Class Cabriolet
The C-Class Cabriolet features a capacity of 360 litres (285 litres with the roof open) and has a rather good boot size for storing luggages, it is available in three petrol variants with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, the C 200 outputs 184hp and 300Nm, C 250 at 211hp and 350Nm, and C 300 at 245hp and 370Nm, all of them are mated to a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
The car has a fully automatic classic cabriolet fabric soft top that comes in black with the basic variant, customers can optionally select a multi-layer acoustic soft top in dark brown, dark blue, dark red or black which reduces the wind and driving noise, it can be opened and closed in 20 seconds at driving speeds of up to 50km/h, the cabriolet is stored in the soft-top compartment in the boot.
In terms of tech, all C-Class Cabriolet variants come with DYNAMIC SELECT which allows the driver to choose the car’s ride characteristic and is available in modes of sporty, comfortable or fuel-efficient. On the other hand, the C 300 comes with the Burmester sound system that offers a listening experience on par with a concert hall, while Mercedes-Benz also offers an intuitive user interface on the car’s infotainment system.
SLC Roadster
As the replacement for the SLK family, the SLC roadster continues to have its signature look but only a lot more modern and sportier than ever, the SLC gets a diamond radiator grille that is also available on the A-Class and CLA models, it also comes along with new light or dark aluminium trim parts with a carbon-fibre finish.
In contrast to the C-Class Cabriolet, the SLC features a vario-roof that combines open-top driving pleasure with uncompromised comfort in poor weather, the SLC 300 in particular, comes with a panoramic vario-roof with Magic Sky Control, which can be lightened and darkened at the touch of a button, this gives the passenger the choice of having a more shady feel or have a little sunlight in the cabin.
The SLC is available in two models with 2-litre 4-cylinder engines, the SLC 200 has an output of 184hp and 300Nm, while the SLC 300 gets a bump to 245hp and 370Nm.
Pricing and Agility Financing
Prices of the C-Class Cabriolet will start from RM358,888 for C 200, RM388,888 for C 250, and RM443,888 for C 300. The SLC model on the other hand starts from RM398,888 for SLC 200 and RM468,888 for SLC 300. All prices are inclusive of GST and OTR without insurance, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has also extended its Agility financing packages to these new cars to offer flexible tenure options and with a certain guaranteed future value of the cars.
