A new mid-range player has just entered the market in the form of Huawei’s Nova 4e. The phone will be the smaller, more affordable sibling to the regular Nova 4.

It sports a 6.15-inch LTPS screen as well as a tear-drop notch. Because of this, the Nova 4e has very thin bezels, boasting a 84.1% screen-to-body ratio.

At the back, you’ll find a triple-camera setup that surpasses that of the regular Nova 4. Here, you get a combination of a 24MP main camera, an 8MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor lens. Huawei claims that the wide-angle lens is capable of covering a 120-degree area, beating the regular Nova 4’s 117-degree lens.

The selfie camera is an impressive 32MP lens, again trumping that of the regular Nova 4’s.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Kirin 710 chipset, 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM. The Nova 4e comes with a respectable 3,340mAh battery and sports a Type-C port. The phone also supports Quick Charge.

Like the Nova 4, the phone comes with features such as AI video ringtones, AI object recognition. This phone also comes with AI translation and calorie detection built in.

For all of those who’ve heard rumors of the Nova 4e being the Huawei P30 lite, you’re right. Upon inspecting the ‘about phone’ tab, under device name, it does say Huawei P30 lite.

The phone will be available in three colors – Peacock Blue, Pearl White, and Midnight Black. You can purchase the phone from March 16 for RM1,199. The 6GB+128GB ROM configuration is the only variant you can get now.
