American manufacturer BLU has made smartphones of all ranges, but this time, the company has unveiled a very rugged looking handset. It is meant to function like one as well. Meet the BLU Tank Xtreme 5.0, an entry level smartphone that is made to endure the daily beatings of a clumsy user.
For its design, the BLU Tank Xtreme 5.0 features rubber dual injections on its protective frame that is meant for cushioning a fall and impact absorption. The handset has an IP65 rating of water and dust resistance, which isn’t at all too impressive, but it is definitely better than nothing at all. As the BLU Tank Xtreme 5.0 is an entry level device, its specs will probaby disappoint.
On the front is a 5-inch IPS display at 720p resolution, protected with Gorilla Glass 3. Underneath the hood lies a MediaTek MT6580 processor, 1GB of RAM and a measly 8GB of internal storage, expandable to a further 64GB. The handset sports both 5MP cameras on the rear and front sides, which are under par given the fact that it is already 2017. The BLU Tank Xtreme 5.0 packs a 3,000mAh and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The BLU Tank Xtreme 5.0 carries a price tag of $130 (RM577.03) and is currently only available in the US on Amazon.
