According to a report by Gizchina, Samsung is set to cancelled the launch of the much-anticipated Galaxy S21 FE due to chip shortages and the success of its newly-launched foldables.

Despite making its appearance in the TENAA certifications website back in July, and the phone allegedly already being mass produced, the Korean giants are now seemingly pulling the plug in order to allocate chip resources for their Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Last year’s Galaxy S20 FE series were great, value devices – its popularity helped build quite the hype for the Galaxy S21 FE; and its rumoured specs looked promising too. The phone was set to pack a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+.

It is unsure if Samsung still intends to release the Galaxy S21 FE, but just at a later date – but seeing as chip shortages are still rife, it’s unlikely the phone will see the light of day.
