Since the launch of the OnePlus 5T, many have pitted it up against current flagships in the market, including the company’s own OnePlus 5 which was launched less than 6 months ago. We now have news that the OnePlus 5T will be the only device sold by OnePlus in the near future.

The OnePlus 5T, while similar to the OnePlus 5 in most aspects, has a couple of notable major changes. These include the near bezel-less 6-inch display on the front, which pushes the fingerprint sensor to the back panel of the phone below the dual camera module. Speaking of which, OnePlus has also replaced the 20MP telephoto sensor with a regular sensor, featuring the same f/1.7 aperture as the 16MP sensor.

The OnePlus 5 have reportedly gone out of stock in several regions worldwide, rumored to make way for the arrival of the OnePlus 5T. It turns out that OnePlus won’t be restocking the older flagship after it runs out in stores, according to Vikas Aggarwal, the General Manager of OnePlus India. Aggarwal stated that the OnePlus 3T previously ran out and was not restocked. He mentioned that the same will happen to the OnePlus 5, as the company intends to have only one device on sale.

This move by OnePlus will make the OnePlus 5 further obsolete, although there aren’t many differences between the phone and the newer OnePlus 5T. The latter has gone on sale in the US as of now, and will head to other regions soon.
