The Nvidia 1100-series graphics cards are closing in, but it looks like Nvidia is still holding on to the 1000-series in what looks like the last card before the new series comes in. The company has announced the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 3GB card which is to fill up the gap between the GTX 1050 2GB and the GTX 1050 Ti 4GB cards.
Nvidia has also mentioned that this card is made for gaming and not for crypto-mining, as the 3GB RAM is more suited for gaming and less useful for mining. The card comes with 768 CUDA cores, the same amount as the Ti variant, and will run 10 percent more faster than the 2GB GTX 1050. In a discussion with PC World, Nvidia has mentioned that it will occupy the price gap between the 2GB GTX 1050 and the GTX 1050 Ti.
This will be a good card for gamers that want to get into gaming at a mid-range price point, but if you have the extra cash lying around, it best to go straight for the GTX 1050 Ti. We should see EVGA, Asus, and Zotec releasing these cards by end June.
