It has been rumored for a while now, and its not even a CES 2017 annoucement, the first true Nokia Android smartphone is finally official and its simply known as the Nokia 6. The Nokia 6 is by all means a no-nonsense device and features many premium features, the phone features an aluminum alloy unibody with very nice chamfered edge on the corners, there’s also a huge 5.5-inch display coated with a 2.5D curved glass, best of all the Nokia 6 runs stock Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box, but expect certain Nokia preloaded software onboard despite that claim.

In terms of hardware specifications, the Nokia 6 clearly isn’t a flagship device as it comes with a Snapdragon 430 processor mated to 4GB of RAM, to be honest this isn’t too bad considering that it runs on vanilla Android and I was quite impressed with this hardware setup when I reviewed the Wiko U Feel Prime. If you are expecting a great camera, the Nokia 6 features a 16-megapixel main camera with a f/2 aperture and 1.0 micron pixel size, which is something sufficient for the average user but definitely not for professional photography. The front camera however, is an 8-megapixel sensor with a f/2 aperture and 1.12 micron pixel size, this should be good for low light selfies. Otherwise, the Nokia 6 has a built-in 3000mAh battery and features dual speakers with support for Dolby Atmos.

Nokia aka HMD Global may not have announced a flagship in the first round, but knowing the current Nokia fashion, it would make sense to take simple steps to slowly reintroducing the brand again starting with an entry-level smartphone, where everyone could easily afford. The bad news here is, we have no idea if the Nokia 6 would ever make it to international markets, and there’s also a possibility that the phone won’t be called what it is right here. Let’s hope Nokia launches a flagship device together with the Nokia 6 when the company makes its debut here.
