Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), the exclusive distributor of Ford in Malaysia, has introduced the Next-Generation Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel, providing an additional engine option for local Raptor enthusiasts.
The new 2.0-litre diesel variant complements its twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 petrol engine sibling in the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor range.
First launched in 2018 in the previous generation Ford Ranger Raptor, the engine variant provides a compelling option for consumers desiring power, performance, and superior fuel efficiency, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, it delivers up to 210 PS at 3,750 rpm and 500 Nm of torque at 1,750-2,000 rpm.
Enhancing the model’s fuel efficiency, it features a stop/start function, battery monitoring system, high-efficiency alternators, and LED daytime running lights, among other features. The vehicle also boasts the same sturdy chassis as its V6 counterpart, featuring several unique frames to withstand rigorous off-road conditions.
Its sophisticated FOX 2.5-inch Internal Bypass shock absorbers, filled with Teflon-infused oil, reduce friction by approximately 50 percent compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the new model features a Bottom-Out Control and a high-strength steel bash plate.
An upgrade in both design and technology is visible in the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel, which sports the same new exterior as the V6 variant.
The all-new cabin reflects a high-performance high-energy design theme, equipped with a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and 12-inch centre touchscreen with Ford’s SYNC® 4A infotainment system, which also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The model also boasts several safety features and advanced driver assistance system, including seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, reverse cameras, ABS and EBD with electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system and a 360-degree camera system.
The Next-Gen Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel is available in color options of Code Orange, Absolute Black, Arctic White, Blue Lightning and Conquer Grey, with a retail price of RM248,888, it comes with a 5-year or 160,000km warranty, whichever comes first, customers can also opt to extend to a 7-year coverage with the PremiumCare extended warranty package.
Early bird benefits, including a specially fitted Kenwood dashcam and a RM500 discount on a Ford Ranger Getaway, will be available to the first 300 customers making a booking for the new vehicle.
The vehicle will be showcased from 9 to 11 June 2023 at MRANTI Park and subsequently toured throughout Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak from June to September 2023 as part of the Ford Experience Hub roadshow.
