The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has announced that they will be conducting a “Hand Phone Users Survey 2018” to collect data from mobile phone users.

According to MCMC’s official Twitter account, the survey will be conducted entirely via telephone from the MCMC CATI (Computer assisted telephone interviewing) centre that is located at Cyberjaya from now until December 12th, 2018. MCMC have also mentioned that the data collection will only be conducted daily from 9 AM to 6 PM, except for National and Selangor public holidays.

MCMC assures that the purpose of the survey is only for data collection. There won’t be money collecting or solicit sales when surveys are being conducted. In addition to that, respondents for the survey are randomly selected by computer based on registered telephone numbers. Worry not, as MCMC will not receive any personal information of mobile cellular subscribers from their service provider.

It is said that participation for the survey is voluntary but cooperation from the public is also very much appreciated by MCMC and all informations collected will be used only for the purpose of deriving statistics at the national level.
