Since Huawei started penetrating the US market with its smartphones, the company has been doing impressively well in pushing out its products to consumers of different regions respectively. Huawei managed to reach the 100 million milestone in smartphones shipped back in 2015, and this year, the Chinese OEM seems to already hit that mark with more than two months left to go.

Huawei made the announcement at its Nova series smartphone launch at home land China, citing a couple more attractive figures that contribute to the 100 million. According to a report by Phone Arena, Huawei has managed to sell 1.5 million Honor 8 units plus 6 million shipments of the flagship P9 in 5 months, an impressive result for a Chinese OEM. Ultimately, Huawei is gearing towards being the top smartphone manufacturer in the future. Currently, the company still sits at third place behind Samsung and Apple in terms of smartphone market share.

Huawei is expected to surpass the 100 million shipments milestone by a fair bit, since the Mate 9 is slated to be unveiled next month. The Huawei Mate 9 is rumored to be sporting a Kirin 960 processor, with 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants alongside 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options. The upcoming flagship phablet by the company is also said to have its battery juiced up from 0 to 50 percent in just 5 minutes. What do you think of Huawei’s performance in 2016?
