Japan and Google have brought a unique way to tour Odate City through the point of view of two fluffy Akita dogs. Akita dogs are a very big part of the city’s history, it houses the Hachiko statue, a monument of loyalty dedicated to the Akita dog that waited nine years for its owner that passed away.
This project is to honour the breed’s historic ties to the city and now you can tour the city on the backs to two adorable Akita dogs named, Ako and Asuka. The 360 camera is strapped to the backs of the dogs and they will take you through snowy mountain trail, Odate’s open-air hot spring foot bath, Roken Shrine, the statue of Hachiko and the Akita Dog Museum.
If you are not interested in the sites the city has to offer, you can still view the Street View images and take a glimpse of the dog’s head and tails as they travel around the city. Check out this two hard working floofs here.
