Previously when GrayKey was able to unlock iPhone’s passcodes, Apple made sure iOS 12 update included heavier security which countered the company’s technology. Now, another security company surfaced and claim to be able to unlock Android, Windows, BlackBerry and iOS devices.

The company, DriveSavers claims to be using new technology to recover the data from devices that are password protected, including the iPhones, even if they are updated with iOS 12. No information is revealed on how the technology works and how it bypasses the security but the company suggest that it can retrieve photos, videos, messages and other data from the locked smartphones.

One thing that can put Apple to ease is that DriveSavers has no plans on sharing or offering their technology to law enforcement agencies, and the service is made for standard customers. The service will also cost around $3,900 which is a rather high price to pay just to unlock your devices.

Aside from that, the company has very strict identification protocols when it comes to helping their customers unlock devices. Legal documents such as death certificates, court documents and others may be required in case you’re unlocking devices that are not yours, such as your loved ones who have passed away. DriveSavers also stated that most people use their service to access data of deceased families and friends.

Apple can go two ways for now, either they let the company be since DriveSavers has no intention on cooperating with government agencies, or Apple will redesign their security structure to ensure that even DriveSavers can’t access the locked iPhones.
