Id Software’s latest installment of DOOM will go on sale on the 13th of May. Before that though, the game will be having a Open Beta period where the multiplayer components of the game will be made available for everyone.
From April 15 to 17 (next weekend), anyone who is interested in DOOM will be able to download the beta client and get their frags on. Much like the Closed Beta, participants of the Open Beta would be able to test out the Team Deathmatch and Warpath multiplayer modes on the Heatwave and Infernal maps. If you’re worried that your PC won’t be able to handle the game, don’t be, because the Open Beta will also be made available on the PS4 and Xbox One.
Judging by the gameplay trailers, DOOM’s multiplayer is throwback to the days where Arena shooters were the staple of FPS games. If you’re a fan of high speed FPS competition, DOOM’s multiplayer may just be what you’re looking for.
