ASUS has launched their brand-new Zenfone 8 lineup, consisting of two very capable flagships – the Zenfone 8 and the Zenfone 8 Flip.
This device packs a 5.9-inch AMOLED panel from Samsung, and it pushes a 120Hz refresh rate and a whopping 240Hz touch sampling rate. Besides smooth motion and impressive clarity, the panel also offers a 112% DCI-P3 colour gamut and a Delta E<1 colour accuracy output. Protecting the panel is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Under the hood, the phone packs the very powerful Snapdragon 888 chipset along with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.
For imaging, the phone comes with a 64MP dual lens setup – 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera, and a 12MP dual pixel ultrawide shooter. For selfies, you get a 12MP camera. For videography, the phone can shoot 8K footage at 24FPS, and comes with a 3-axis stabilisation system too.
Powering the device is a 4,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0 and PD charging.
Zenfone 8 Flip
Like the Zenfone 6 and Zenfone 7, the Zenfone 8 Flip packs the brand’s signature motorized flip-up camera module. The system consists of a 64MP main lens, a 12MP ultrawide shooter, and an 8MP telephoto lens. Because the camera flips 180-degrees from the back, this means that the same set of lenses are used for taking selfies!
Under the hood is the same Snapdragon 888 processor, but this phone only comes with 8GB RAM. You still get up to 256GB of storage, while the battery is now larger at 5,000mAh.
The Zenfone 8 Flip comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ all-screen AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel also offers a 110% CDI-P3 colour gamut, and a Delta E<1 colour accuracy.

The Zenfone 8 is available in Obsidian Black and Horizon Silver, and costs €599; while the Zenfone 8 Flip comes in Galactic Black and Glacier Silver, and will set you back €799. Local pricings are not available yet, but visit ASUS’ website for more updates.
