ASUS has just launched the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED – a Microsoft Surface-like 2-in-1 laptop.
It’s big selling point is that it comes with a detachable full-size keyboard and ASUS Pen 2.0 stylus support; the former has a 1.4mm key travel and magnetically attaches to the device. The latter is Microsoft Pen Protocol 2.0-compliant and offers a 266 Hz sampling rate.
This also means that the laptop is touchscreen – you get a 13.3-inch FHD OLED panel that pushes a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, plus Dolby Vision support. It’s PANTONE Validated, and is True Black 500-certified.
Under the hood is a Quad Core Intel Pentium Silver N6000 CPU, up to 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage by way of a PCIe SSD.
For ports, you get a microSD card reader, two USB-C ports (with PowerDelivery support), and an audio jack. There’s a 5MP front camera for video conferences, and a 13MP read camera for taking photos.
Powering all of this is a 50 Wh battery, plus there’s support for 67W of charging.
The laptop is priced from $599, whoever there’s no word on its local pricing and availability yet. We’ll be sure to keep you updated when more information arrives.
