If you think having fast internet is important, then check out the latest routers by ASUS, which boost maximum combined speeds of 5334Mbit/s, and another up to 3167Mbit/s. Firstly, the ASUS RT-AC5300 is an ultra-high-performance tri-band wireless router that features a Broadcom NitroQAM technology, with a 4×4 (4-transmit, 4-receive) MIMO antenna array on all three of the bands. Combined with AiRadar universal beanforming and Tri-Band Smart Connect, it allows better multi-device performance and a wider coverage area.

Why is it targeted at gamers? Well, the ASUS RT-AC5300 includes an exclusive built-in game accelerator powered by Gamers Private Network (GPN) from WTFast (at no extra cost), hence ping times and latency would significantly reduce, especially when playing online games. The RT-AC5300 boasts better than wired speeds, providing stability and reliability when it comes to performance. GPN can reduce average game ping times by 30-60%, giving you lover average speed deviations by 70-90%, and cutting bad router hops by 70-90%. How it works? Well, WTFast routes game data packets automatically using the most efficient internet route, reducing packet loss and hence a more responsive gaming experience. Since the game accelerator is integrated into the router, you can experience the GPN on any gaming platform including Windows, Mac OS, Linux and game consoles. With an easy-to-use ASUSWRT graphical user interface, the game accelerator doesn’t consume system resources on your gaming device.

Even when connecting a large number of devices, speeds and stability are not compromised, as demonstrated during the launch event today. whether it is laptops, smartphones, tablets, smart TVs or smart home devices, the RT-AC5300 is able to support them with two independant 5GHz frequency bands and one 2.5GHz frequency band.

Another router launched today is the RT-AC88U ultra-fast AC3100-class dual band 802.11ac wireless router that also features 4×4 antenna configuration. It uses Broadcom NitroQAM technology as well to deliver a combined dual-band data rate of up to 3167-2167Mbit/s on a 5GHz band, and a 1000mbit/s on a 2.4GHz band. Targeted at gamers and media lovers, this router allows low-latency gaming as well as smooth 4K/UHD video streaming and file sharing.

The ASUS RT-AC88U also features ASUS AiRadar and universal beamforming to support multi-device, as well as the same buit-in gaming accelerator powered by GPN from WTFast, just like the RT-AC5300. In addition, the RT-AC88U include support for 802.3ad Link Aggregation, which allows two Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports to be combined into a 2Gbit/s wired connection. So now, with 8 Gigabit LAN ports, you can connect even more devices to your home network without needing extra network switches.

The ASUS RT-AC5300 will be retailing at RM 2,199, while the ASUS RT-AC88U will be priced at RM 1,799. Both will be available at stores next week.
