Other than the ROG Phone, Asus also introduced two new gaming laptops, the Strix SCAR II and Strix Hero II, laptops that are equipped with a 144Hz narrow bezel display with 3ms GTG response time.

The laptops are also 2.33cm narrower than the previous models and weigh only 2.4kg, make it easy to bring around. Both the laptops feature a gaming keyboard with HyperStrike Pro technology for faster command input and support Asus’s Aura Sync. The laptops are the world’s first to come with multi-antenna WiFi for a more consistent online gaming thanks to a patented ROG RangeBoost technology that combines four antennas located at the front and back of the laptop, resulting in 30%-wider coverage.

Specs wise, both come with the latest 8th Generation Intel Core processor with up to 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz clock speed, either a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or 1070 graphics card and up to 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4 alongside a 1TB Seagate FireCuda SSHD.

Asus has also done some work on the thermals of the laptops, as they come with the HyperCool Pro thermal which keeps the components below 90 degrees to avoid thermal throttling. The patented Anti-Dust Cooling expells dust and particles to keep the fans clean which also contributes to efficient cooling. The Overboost app can also be utilized to select three different fan settings depending on the needs of the gamer.

Both the Strix SCAR II and Hero II will release worldwide on Q2 2018 and pricing will be announced soon.
