Apple customers can now get reliable repair service from third-party shops

Apple announced a new repair program that lets certified third-party repair shops fix the “most common out-of-warranty iPhone” problems so customers can be more at ease when they visit those shops for repairs.

As mentioned, these third-party repair shops will need to join Apple’s independent repair program that is now free of charge and once they get the AASP certification, Apple will provide them with the same genuine components, equipment, manuals, and training like the AASPs.

This is Apple’s effort to provide more reliable repairs to its customers. Just last month, the company tried to prevent users from unauthorized battery replacements by displaying an error message that says, “Unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple battery. Health information not available for this battery.”

“When a repair is needed, a customer should have confidence the repair is done right. We believe the safest and most reliable repair is one handled by a trained technician using genuine parts that have been properly engineered and rigorously tested,” said the company in its press release.

Apple also expanded its authorized service network recently in the US, making sure every Best Buy store can provide authorized repair service.
