Android Nougat finally arrives to Galaxy Note 5 after dreaded long wait

Samsung has been rather slow this time round for its software updates of Android Nougat as many smartphone manufacturers have been quick to ship out their respective software updates. The South Korean manufacturer seems to be resting on its laurels in pushing out updates for its older devices. Nevertheless, Android Nougat is finally rolling out to the “safe” Galaxy Note 5 phablet as promised.

The rollout however, still appears to be pretty minimal for now as reported by Sam Mobile. The software updated has only arrived to a handful of lucky Galaxy Note 5 users beginning in Turkey. There hasn’t been official word from Samsung regarding Nougat for the 2015 flagship phablet, but users should expect the software update to reach their hands in due time.

The software update is sized at 1.3GB, which can be justified by the step up from Marshmallow to Nougat. This comes roughly a week after Samsung kicked off Nougat updates for the aged Galaxy S6/S6 Edge flagships. On another note, while most Galaxy S7 devices have gotten their copies of Nougat, carrier locked ones stateside still run on Android Marshmallow.

If you happen to be a Galaxy Note 5 user, stay tuned as the update could arrive to your device real soon. Do let us know if you’ve received your Nougat software update!
