Just a month after we saw the arrival of 2020’s Acer Aspire 5 and Swift 3X, the brand has today launched another host of items including two updated Swift series devices, as well as the TravelMate P2 business laptop.
Acer Swift 3 and Swift 5
The Acer Swift series is the brand’s all-rounder option and these updated models pack the newest 11th-Gen Intel Core CPUs to offer the kind of performance modern-day work requires.
Starting with the Swift 5, this 14-inch laptop offers a touch-enabled FHD IPS display that supports a wide 100% sRGB colour gamut. The panel here is coated with Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass that supposedly reduces bacteria growth on the touch surface.
The laptop is made of lightweight aluminium, allowing the entire device to weigh in at just 1.05kg. Under the hood, you get up to an 11th-Gen Core i7 CPU, which is paired with the Intel Iris X integrated GPU.
Acer claims that the laptop is capable of lasting up to 15 hours on a single full charge, while a 30-minute charge can allow for 4 hours of video playback. It comes equipped with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0, the Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 suite of productivity programs, and a fingerprint scanner.
Moving on to the Acer Swift 3, you also get a 14-inch device equipped with an 11th-Gen Intel Core i7 CPU. Also like the Swift 5 is its support for up to 16GB of onboard memory and 512GB of PCIe NCMe SSD for storage.
What sets it apart is that it doesn’t have a touchscreen display, but the panel here is still FHD IPS. Elsewhere, the Swift 3 is essentially similar to the Swift 5, except a little heavier at 1.2kg. It offers a shorter 11-hour battery life. This laptop too comes pre-installed with MS Office Home & Student 2019.
The Acer Swift 5 is available in Mist Green, is priced from RM3,999; the Swift 3 comes in more colours and is priced from RM3,299. Both laptops are available to purchase now via Acer’s official online stores and authorised retailers.
TravelMate P2
If you want something that’s all business, the TravelMate P2 comes with a whole host of business-centric features such as TPM 2.0 protection, a spill-resistant keyboard, shock-absorbent corners, a fingerprint reader and facial recognition unlock.
The laptop also comes with an 11th-Gen Intel Core CPU, the Intel Iris X GPU, up to 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB hard drive, or a 512GB PCIe SSD for storage.
The TravelMate P2 also supports WiFi 6, dual front-firing TrueHarmony speakers, 2 microphones, keystroke suppression tech, a 720p webcam that has a lens cover, and more.
