Wireless earbuds are usually sold on sound quality, noise cancellation and battery life, but viaim is trying something different with the Rise. The new AI Agent Earbuds launch on Indiegogo today after picking up Best in Audio and a Best in Design honour at the IFA 2026 Innovation Awards.
These earbuds are built around AI productivity
The headline feature is the ability to capture conversations, transcribe them and turn them into structured notes, summaries and action items. The idea is that users can move from a meeting or interview to a usable set of follow-up tasks without manually typing everything down afterwards.
That makes Rise particularly interesting for journalists, students, sales teams and anyone who spends a large part of the day in meetings. Instead of positioning AI as another app you have to open, viaim is attempting to place the assistant directly into something people already wear.
The real question is whether AI earbuds are actually useful
There is a growing wave of AI wearables that promise to remember conversations and organise information for you. The challenge is making those features reliable enough to be trusted. Transcription accuracy, speaker separation, battery impact and privacy controls will matter far more than the novelty of having an AI assistant in your ears.
For Malaysian users, language handling will be particularly important because conversations often switch between English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese in the same meeting. An AI wearable that can cope with that naturally would have a much stronger practical advantage than one designed around clean, single-language conversations.
