Possible Mate 9 for Huawei's November 3 event

Huawei has begun rolling out invites to the media and members of the press for its event in Munich, Germany. According to Android Authority, the event will be the “global unveiling of a new flagship device”. The email has specifically stated that Huawei CEO Richard Yu will be gracing the stage for the announcment of the “flagship device”.

CEO Yu has always been known to take on the unveiling of Huawei’s major handsets and devices, such as the Nova and Nova Plus that both saw the light back in IFA 2016. There is a fat chance that the “flagship device” mentioned in the invite will be the Huawei Mate 8. Considering the Mate series’ annual cycle and launch date, it is highly likely. The Huawei Mate 8 was launched in Huawei’s home country China in November last year, before going global in January 2016. However, the Mate 9 might see a different fate, with a possible global launch straight away this coming November 3rd.

Previous leaks and rumors indicate that the Mate 9 will be sporting a display of the same size compared to its predecessor at 6-inches, a HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset with a whopping up to 6GB of RAM under the hood, 4GB RAM for the base model. The handset is also said to be featuring up to 256GB of internal storage and a 4,000mAh battery. Leica is also expected to make an appearance with yet another dual rear camera configuration on the Mate 9.

What do you think about the Huawei Mate 9’s rumored specs so far? November 3 could be “the” date for the Mate 9’s unveiling, but we can’t be entirely certain for sure. Let us know your thoughts at the comments section below!
