Samsung has been rumored to be releasing a new Galaxy Grand Prime for a while now. The previous Galaxy Grand Prime was unveiled back in 2014 with then mid range specs – a 5-inch display and a Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. A newer Galaxy Grand Prime (2016) has been spotted on Geekbench, revealing a couple of key specs that we might want to know.
The Galaxy Grand Prime (2016), as based on the Geekbench result, will be powered by a MediaTek processor this time round, more specifically a quad core MT6737T chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz. In terms of memory, the handset sports 2GB of RAM, with the onboard storage yet to be revealed as for now. Also based on the benchmark results, we do know that the Grand Prime will be operating on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.
Other specs have been spotted on an earlier GFXBench result upload, stating that the Galaxy Grand Prime features a 5-inch display at 540 x 960 resolution, an 8MP rear camera with a 5MP selfie shooter on the front. If the above specs happen to be true, we might be looking at an entry level Galaxy Grand Prime this time. Compared to its predecessor, the newer Galaxy Grand Prime certainly doesn’t seem like much of an upgrade. What do you think?
