Xiaomi introduced two new phones in the Redmi Note 10 series today; the Redmi Note 10 5G and the Redmi Note 10S.
Redmi Note 10 5G
Starting with the only 5G phone in this series, the Redmi Note 10 5G is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor that supports dual 5G SIM. It comes with 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB of storage, and ships with MIUI 12 based on Android 11.
Between the two newer models, the Note 10 5G has a slightly larger 6.5-inch DotDisplay. It supports up to 90Hz refresh rate, but unfortunately, it’s only using an LCD panel. The display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and its back is made of plastic, but it has a matte finish.
In the imaging department, this phone has a 48MP camera paired with a 2MP macro lens and another 2MP depth sensor. On its front, it has an 8MP lens with f/2.0 aperture.
Although Xiaomi included a 22.5W charger in the box, the Note 10 5G only supports 18W fast charging. That being said, Xiaomi still included a 5,000mAh battery in this phone.
The Redmi Note 10 5G is priced at RM799 and is available from May 28 onwards on Xiaomi’s official store on Shopee and Lazada, authorised Mi Stores and official retailers. You can get it in Chrome Silver, Graphite Gray, Nighttime Blue and Aurora Green.
Redmi Note 10S
On the other hand, the Redmi Note 10S that is slightly smaller at 6.43 inches comes with an AMOLED display. It has dual speakers and also a 3.5mm headphone jack, and just like the Redmi Note 10 5G, it also uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and pushes FHD resolution.
The Redmi Note 10S is powered by a MediaTek Helio G95 chip and also comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It ships with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11, and has a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
This phone has a better camera system compared to the Note 10 5G — it comes with a 64MP lens that is accompanied by an 8MP ultra wide camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. You’ll also get a 13MP selfie lens with f/2.45 aperture on the front.
The Redmi Note 10S is available in Onyx Gray, Pebble White and Ocean Blue. It is priced at RM899 and can be purchased from May 21 onwards.
